Saint Louis Zoo – Somali Wild Ass New Born   

I was wondering through the Saint Louis Zoo Friday and spotted a new born in the Somali Wild Ass exhibit. I haven’t heard yet if it is a boy or girl. The baby was kind of shy staying close to mom and in the corner. This is the second baby Somali Wild Ass born in the last month at the zoo. I will post an update as soon as I find out more.

It was early morning so some of the animals were still enjoying breakfast. The Aldabra Tortoise had a pretty big salad going there, just needed some ranch dressing.

Early morning at the zoo is always a great time to get good photos. Animals tend to be out roaming instead of crashed in a corner.

I managed to get really close to some of the birds in the 1904 World Fair’s Cage. Turned into the Cypress Swamp Exhibit it features the southern swamps in the USA.
