Harvest Festival at Dublin Zoo
Traditionally, Harvest Festivals are a celebration of food grown on land, and Dublin Zoo will bring this to life through a host of fun and educational activities. The activities will offer visitors to City Farm practical demonstrations on traditional farming techniques and other customs including, butter churning, spinning, weaving and hedgerow basket making. Professional story tellers from Dublin City Libraries will contribute to the afternoon’s entertainment. They will tell stories about the harvesting season including the stories about the life of the potato – this is especially entertaining for children along with face-painting!
As well as joining in on the activities, visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase some fresh farming produce at City Farm.
