Whitney takes over Zoo-To-Do sponsorship
Whitney Bank is the new title sponsor of the Audubon Zoo’s Zoo-To-Do.
The Zoo-To-Do raises more than $1 million a year for the nonprofit zoo, operated by Audubon Nature Institute. It has paid for projects such as the Louisiana Swamp exhibit renovation and the sea lion pool.
“This is the perfect partnership,” Audubon Nature Institute President and CEO Ron Forman said. “You couldn’t find two organizations that are more uniquely woven into the fabric of New Orleans than Whitney Bank and Audubon Zoo.”
Whitney will sponsor the event for five years, taking over from Chase.
“This is our 125th anniversary year,” Whitney Chairman and CEO John C. Hope said. “And there’s no better way to celebrate than by supporting the Audubon Nature Institute and the Zoo.”
Whitney also funded the clock tower at the Audubon Zoo entrance in 2001.
The 32nd Zoo-to-Do will take place May 1. Proceeds will help pay for the restoration of the Asian elephant exhibit.
