OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – Henry Doorly Zoo’s newest attraction – an aerial tram called Skyfari – has opened to the public.
The chair-lift ride at the Omaha zoo allows a treetop view of the giraffe, cheetah, elephant and rhino exhibits and the Garden of the Senses. It stretches just over a quarter of a mile, and a round-trip ride takes 20 minutes.
Zoo officials say the Skyfari, which opened on Saturday, can carry 800 riders per hour.
Zoo officials first unveiled the attraction during a test run early this month, but inspection problems delayed its opening.
