Lucknow Nov 9 (PTI) At the time when the tiger population is dwindling in the country, a Royal Bengal tigress has given birth to four cubs at a zoological park here.
Ipshita, who was brought to the park in 2007 from Nandan Kanan in Bhubaneswar, gave birth to the four cubs last night, zoo officials said today.
Both the tigress and the cubs are doing fine and are being given necessary care, they said, adding one of the cubs is white in colour.
They said Ipshita owes her lineage to white tiger Jawahar and Rinki, a royal Bengal tigress and that is the reason for one of her cubs being white in colour.
