MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis Zoo officials say there won’t be a baby panda anytime soon, after Ya Ya had a miscarriage.
The giant panda was artificially inseminated in November and earlier this week test results showed that Ya Ya was pregnant. But during an ultrasound, early Tuesday morning, March 2, 2010, it was discovered that there was no sound of a baby. Zoo officials say Ya Ya miscarried.
Zoo keepers aren’t giving up though. Ya Ya will be inseminated again sometime in the fall or early winter.

I was very sorry to hear of this. We have been so blessed at our San Diego Zoo, and hoped that Memphis Zoo was in store for 3rd time being the charmed one…Love Grammmie
