AN EXOTIC monkey savaged by a 200kg gorilla and a baby panda eaten by its mother are among hundreds of deaths at Melbourne Zoo.
The dossier of deaths at the Parkville zoo, showing 486 animals perished in captivity in the past two years, has prompted calls for an inquiry into care practices.
